Riverside apartments with exceptional views in Ouseburn, Newcastle

Stay Ouseburn offers one- and two-bedroom riverside apartments in Newcastle’s Ouseburn. Both sit high above the river, with wide views across the Tyne that take in the Millennium Bridge, the Glasshouse and the curve of the valley beyond. It’s a place that works comfortably for people in the city for work, as well as for those taking a few days off or coming up for a long weekend. The Free Trade Inn is on the same street and close enough to wander down whenever you feel like it, without thinking about coats, taxis or timing.

These are some of the views you can expect on a visit to Newcastle upon Tyne and Northumberland – and our apartments are very much part of that landscape. From the windows, you can see the Tyne Bridge, the Millennium Bridge and the Glasshouse International Centre for Music. The two-bed apartment sits high above the river on the fourth floor of a riverside ridge, giving a particularly striking, elevated view that often surprises first-time visitors. The one-bed apartment, a short walk away, also enjoys a brilliant outlook. You can’t see the Angel of the North, but on still match days you can see St James’ Park in the distance – and sometimes hear the roar of the crowd when Newcastle United score.

Ouseburn is one of those parts of Newcastle that people who know the city tend to gravitate towards. It sits alongside the River Tyne, just far enough from the centre to feel settled and lived-in, but close enough that you can walk into town along the Quayside whenever you want. Converted warehouses, independent pubs, small venues and good places to eat are woven into the neighbourhood rather than set apart from it.

Staying here feels different from being in the city centre. You can head out for live music at The Cluny, call into the Free Trade Inn, or pick up coffee and food locally, then be back at the apartment in minutes.

When you want more of the city, the Quayside, theatres, the Glasshouse and Newcastle’s main shopping and dining areas are all within easy reach on foot or by public transport.

The one- and two-bedroom apartments are in separate buildings a short distance apart, each offering a quiet, private place to stay with open views across the river. It’s a setting that works well whether you’re in Newcastle for work, taking a few days off, or simply want somewhere that feels part of the city rather than a place you’re passing through.
